Introducing James Roderick
Introducing James as the newest member of the Grantham Family. Cate and I fell in love with James instantly and Kace and Rhett initiated James into their brotherhood the first time they saw him.
Santa Clara University School of Law
Cate put law school on hold so I could start my career and so we could start our family. Now she's enrolled in Santa Clara Law School, right in the heart of Silicon Valley. She loves her classmates and the challenge of law school, and our whole family has loved living near campus.
We live in San Diego
With a new startup growing and looking forward to living closer to family, we moved to San Diego. We made some wonderful friends and have discovered date night as we perma-hire a babysitter every Friday night.
Rhett came just when we needed him. Our lives were completely under rubble, literally, as we were remodelling our 1964 ranch house and waist deep (figuratively) in the latest startup. If it wasn't for Rhett, and the deadline that his due date represented, then we probably never would have finished...
This is Kace
There are no words to adequately describe how I felt when Kace was born. I couldn’t stop smiling. Kace brought so much joy with him. Cate and I couldn’t believe being parents could be so awesome. Kace is amazing, and he teaches us as much as we teach him.
DC we're here!
My first permanent position with Raytheon Technical Services division brought us to the nation's capital for the opportunity to take on some overseas projects in Russia, Saudi Arabia, and the United Kingdom. Georgetown Cupcakes was our favorite place to take friends and family visiting from out of town.
Landed in Boston
We had the choice to move to San Diego or Boston, and we decided to go Boston! We love it here and have found some wonderful friends and some amazing mentors.
Cate married me at last
Can’t believe that this wonderful woman married me. Best decision that I ever made was to ignore the butterflies in my stomach the night before my wedding and show up for the ceremony at the Newport Beach LDS temple. Man I was nervous.
Living and working in Los Angeles
After BYU, I joined Raytheon, a Fortune 100 company in aerospace and defense, and was offered a position in their Contracts Leadership Development Program. They liked that I was comfortable working with attorneys and I liked that I could work with every other part of the business in preparation for starting my own company one day.
